Neuromas are sometimes enlarged benign swelling of nerves, most commonly between the second and third and third and fourth toes. They are caused by tissue rubbing against and irritating the nerves. Pressure from poorly-fitting shoes or abnormal bone structure can create the condition as well. Treatments can include special shoes or inserts. Injections can also be given. Dr. Bregman performs endosopic decompression of the nerves when conservative therapy fails. Rarely a cutting of the nerve along with replanting is needed. The Endoscopic procedure is very quick and is 90% successful and provides little downtime.
