Hallux abductovalgus commonly referred to as bunion deformities are usually the result of genetic predisposition. If evaluated and treated at an early stage, many deformities can be prevented from becoming severe.

We utilize a comprehensive approach to evaluation and treatment of bunion deformities. It is extremely important that the correct surgical procedure meet specific criteria so that recurrence is minimized. Dr. Mark Haas as co-author of The Textbook of Bunion Surgery, established specific x-ray and clinical criteria in the evaluation and selection of the appropriate surgical approach.

If allowed to progress, many bunion deformities will cause further structural problems such as hammertoes, plantar calluses, neuromas, or other forefoot pathology.

Currently all of our surgical techniques for bunion surgeries are performed on an outpatient day surgery basis.
